Bee Hives

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (1)

Now this may sound like a silly mod to include on a list of best mods to get, but if you’ve played Skyrim before, then you know Honey can be difficult to come by and stealing from Golden Glow Estate isn’t always a smart move. Placing these bee hives in front of Honningbrew Meadery is a stroke of genius.

The Paarthurnax Dilemma

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (2)

If you’re anything like us, you may have grown fond of the dragon sitting atop the Throat of the World. Once you complete the main story though, you’re forced to kill him if you want to do every quest.

Fortunately, this mod allows you to complete the same quest in a way that keeps your flying buddy alive.

Aethernautics: A Space Travel Mod

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (3)

You know what Skyrim doesn’t have enough of? Spaceships.

In fact, it doesn’t really have any, at least not until you install this amazing mod that adds a usable ship which can serve as your base, and a pretty cool questline. Did we mention that you can call in orbital strikes with it, too?

Alternate Start – Live Another Life

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (4)

Alternate Start is one of those mods that really transforms how you experience a game. You’ll be able to be something other than a prisoner at the beginning of Skyrim and see where life takes you from there.

Disable Cinematic Kills

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (5)

Cinematic Kills are great at first, but they can really put a dampener on the immersion after a few hundred times seeing them. This simple mod allows you to disable them so you can keep it moving without any odd interruptions.

M.H.A.R.P.H.I.N. se

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (6)

The name may be difficult to pronounce, but it adds a new robotic companion that has a ton of dialogue, custom armor, clever interactions, and an interesting quest line.

This mod allows you to unlock a Riekling porter who will tag along and carry all of the junk you pick up during your adventures.

Campfire: Complete Camping System

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (8)

The campfire mod adds a survival system to Skyrim which allows you to set up camp, build fires, hunt with new abilities, and more. It’s a new and interesting way to experience the world Bethesda has created.

Point The Way

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (9)

Bringing up your map while exploring the world can really spoil the immersion, but it’s almost impossible to navigate the roads without doing so. The Point the Way mod adds accurate road signs to intersections so you can stay in the world and rely much less on pesky maps.

The Forgotten City

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (10)

The Forgotten City is an award-winning, fan-created expansion to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. You’ll get to enjoy new dungeons that are full of mysteries, new story segments, and multiple endings.

Rich Merchants of Skyrim: Special Edition

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (11)

This mod does just what you’d expect. It gives every merchant in the game 10,000 gold so they can finally be able to afford all the junk you’re selling.

Blackreach Railroad

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (12)

This is another mod that adds a sizeable amount of story content to the game while also introducing new elements such as a fully functional train, enemies, and weapons.

Dovahkiin Keep

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (13)

You can never have too much storage in Skyrim thanks to all of the Daedric Artifacts, cool weapons, and steal-able items in the game. Dovahkiin Keep provides tons of chests, mannequins, and other means of displaying your spoils.

God Gear

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (14)

With all of the new adventures and enemies you’ll be up against thanks to the addition of mods on the Xbox One, you’ll want some really powerful gear to help you run right through. That’s where God Gear comes in, making you into an unstoppable badass.

Dwemer Goggles and Scouter

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (15)

The items added through this mod are nothing short of awesome. Both give the ability to sense NPCs through walls, though they each have their own nuances. The Goggles let you see at night, and the Scouter works like the ones you’d see in Dragon Ball Z. They highlight enemies and even color code them based on their threat level.

Ys Spell Tweaks

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (16)

This mod’s tweaks make being a mage even more enjoyable thanks to new abilities, lower cast times, and improved animations.

Elemental Destruction Magic

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (17)

Now that you have an improved magic experience, why not throw in some powerful spells based around earth, water, and wind? You’ll also gain Poison-based spells which scale off of your restoration, opening up a host of new magical strategies to implement.

Open Cities Skyrim

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (18)

This is an ambitious mod, but one that really ups the level of immersion in Skyrim. You’ll be able to trot right into cities from the open world without any load screens, turning the entirety of the country into one big area.

The Ring of God Mode

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (19)

Sometimes you just want to run free and decimate anyone that crosses you. However, you can be kind of squishy in Skyrim, allowing enemies to tear you apart if you aren’t properly equipped. This mod solves that problem for you with some drastically increased stats that’ll allow you to crush any opponent with ease.

God Tier Weapons and Heavy Armor

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (20)

So you don’t want to make yourself invincible or anything like that, but you do want god-like power to suit your high level. That’s where this mod comes in to equip you in some weapons and armor capable of some serious badass-ery.

150% Jumping & Sprinting

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (21)

If you ever found yourself missing the game-breaking Acrobatics and Athletics skills from Oblivion, this mod is for you. It allows you to jump 50% higher and run for 50% longer. It’s simple, but jumping over enemies never gets old. It also makes climbing a whole lot easier.

Legendary Creatures

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (22)

Legendary Creatures adds powerful enemies to the world of Skyrim that guard equally powerful armor, weapons, and spells. Hunting them all down makes for some great fun, and feels like a more fleshed-out and sustained version of the Kyne’s Sacred Trials questline.

Perk Point Book

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (23)

This mod adds a book that resembles Oghma Infinium and allows you to increase your perk points. You can read it an infinite amount of times to keep gaining more and more points, allowing you to snap the game over your knee like a twig.

Unlimited Werewolf Transformations

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (24)

It’s silly to only be allowed to transform once per day after all the work you put in to gaining the werewolf power in the first place. Unlimited Werewolf Transformations allows you to howl into the sky as often as you want, ripping and tearing your way through enemies whenever you please.

Thunderchild – Epic Shouts and Immersion

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (25)

You can never have too many ways to yell at enemies and watch them perish. This mod adds 31 new amazing shouts, each with their own special and interesting quirks and effects. You’ll be able to spend hours experimenting with them, all while your enemies flee in terror.

FPS Boost

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (26)

Skyrim can struggle to run at times on the Xbox One. Thankfully, someone came up with a way to help things run a lot smoother. No matter how big the dragon you’re facing or how numerous the skeletons charging at you at once, this mod will keep the game running optimally so you can stay immersed.

Triss & Yennefer Armor Mod

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (27)

This does exactly what the title says: It gives you highly detailed armor resembling the outfits that both Triss and Yennefer wore in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. If you’re dying to bring some of the Witcher series’ style into Skyrim, this mod is for you.

Unlimited Weapon Charges

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (28)

Tired of stressing over which enchantment to use on your most valued weapon for fear of unlocking a better one latter? Download this simple mod that allows you to use enchantments as much as you want without having to go into menus to charge them.

Climates of Tamriel

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (29)

Climates of Tamriel adds a lot more beauty to the world of Skyrim through nature. New cloud textures and hundreds of weather variations make the world feel more vivid and alive, and can help you to feel like you’re wandering through a fully realized world.

Wearable Lanterns

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (30)

The world of Skyrim can get really dark, and having to cast a spell to see isn’t always fun. With the Wearable Lanterns mod though, you can wear a lantern around and see everything without a torch taking up one of your hands.

Deadly Bosses of Skyrim

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (31)

This mod adds powerful bosses to the game to help you test your skills and abilities. No longer will you be able to breeze through every encounter with ease. Instead, you’ll need to bring your A-game to every fight, only coming out on top if you use all of your skills and abilities masterfully.

Lush Overhaul

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (32)

The world of Skyrim can be a bit barren. This mod adds some flora to the environment, turning the entire world into a beautiful garden full of verdant wonder.

A Quality World Map

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (33)

The Map in Skyrim has never been the best, but with this mod you’ll be able to see roads and obstacles clearly. It’s ideal for anyone who plans to spend multiple hours exploring Skyrim’s far corners.

Sofia Follower

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (34)

Like Lucien, Sofia is a fully voiced follower that is helpful and hilarious. Having her tag along on your adventures is sure to keep them bright and cheerful, even as she slaughters whatever enemy tries to get within a few feet of you.

Inigo Follower

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (35)

Inigo is a Khajit follower who is very powerful and doesn’t affect your follower count, so he can join you alongside Sofia, Lucien or anyone else you wish to travel with. After all, you can never have too many followers.

Skyland 1k

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (36)

Mods that add more to the beauty of Skyrim are always worth downloading, and Skyland is no exception. It provides a complete texture overhaul that adds an extra dash of realism to the experience.

Unique Uniques

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (37)

Unique Uniques changes the appearance of many weapons to give them more of a legendary and exotic feel. You can be sure that the rare weapon you spent dozens of hours questing for won’t be a simple Steel Sword with special enchantments once this mod is installed.

Vivid Weathers

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (38)

More atmosphere is never a bad thing. The Vivid Weathers mod makes all of the weather effects look even more realistic, helping to drag you further into your adventures across Skyrim’s temperamental tundra and plains.

Cloaks and Capes

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (39)

Feel like royalty with some of this mod’s beautiful Cloaks and Capes. Men will fear your status, while women will be envious that they don’t have such fine clothing to wear most anywhere in the world.

Frostfall: Hypothermia Camping Survival

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (40)

Frostfall: Hypothermia Camping Survival dials the difficulty of the world up to 11 by taking freezing weather into consideration and making survival way more immersive. You’ll need to account for how often you get wet, the clothing you wear and several other factors in order to make it through each day alive.

The Temple of Time: Kokiri’s Valley

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (41)

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is unarguably a huge hit, but perhaps you’d like a bit more maturity in your adventures. Bring a piece of Link’s adventure into Skyrim with the Temple of Time mod, complete with a Master Sword to unlock, an Epona to ride, new characters to meet, and more.

Dwemer Storage Cube

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (42)

The Dwemer Storage Cube is a home you pull out of your pocket. Simply interact with it in your inventory and you’re transported to a safe haven where you can store gear, take a rest, and do pretty much anything else you’d do in a house.

Moonpath to Elsweyr

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (43)

If you’re looking for a meaty expansion, that introduces new characters, new questlines, new dungeons, and new monsters, then Moonpath to Elseyr may be just the mod you’re looking for. Amazingly, it’s already been downloaded over 1 million times, which is pretty darn impressive, no?

Falskaar

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (44)

Much akin to the aforementioned Moonpath to Elsewyr and The Forgotten City expansions, Falskaar is a vast new land for you to explore brimming with new monsters, new lore, and even a bunch of new voice-acted characters. In fact, there are over 20 hours of quests to dive into which will likely keep you busy till the cows mud crabs come home.

Immersive Citizens – AI Overhaul

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (45)

It’s no secret that the NPCs of Skyrim can be a little dumb, and if you’ve always wanted a more immersive experience where the AI is just a little smarter and can react to you in a more realistic manner, the Immersive Citizens mod is a great one to check out. It greatly improves their behavior, and also makes them feel more dynamic as a result.

Diverse Dragons Collection

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (46)

As it is, the dragon enemies of Skyrim are already impressive enough. Yet, the Diverse Dragons Collection mod expands the universe even more by introducing a whole ton of new dragon types you can encounter in the open-world. They all come with unique models and textures, and can really help to spice up subsequent playthroughs.

Relationship Dialogue Overhaul

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (47)

Let’s be real. The relationships you can forge in Skyrim are kinda lackluster at best. The Relationship Dialogue Overhaul mod solves that problem, or at the very least alleviates it by introducing tons of new voiced lines to really expand the kinds of conversations you can have with the NPCs in-game. NPCs will have much more to say to you in-game, and they’ll actually feel more like people, and less like robots.

Divine Cities – Premier City Overhaul

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (48)

The towns and settlements of vanilla Skyrim look pretty damn good, but no one’s gonna say no to them looking even more impressive, right? That’s what the Divine Cities mod aims to do. This mod is seriously impressive in that there’s so much more detail to admire in the major towns, along with overhauled flora and fauna, new pet companions to discover, and just more life overall.

Enhanced Nights

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (49)

It sounds simple, but once you have it installed, you’ll never go back. The Enhanced Nights mod makes the night skies of Skyrim look even more beautiful. Stars are brighter, the aurora borealis looks even more romantic than usual, and the best part is that it works well with most other night mods you might already have installed.

Sacrosanct – Vampires of Skyrim

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (50)

If you’ve always felt like the vampiric features of Skyrim have been kinda disappointing, then Sacrosanct is definitely the mod to get. This mod allows vampires access to a whole host of new abilities and progression mechanics, including being able to expend blood to resurrect themselves and using spoken commands to force others to do their bidding.

Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (51)

Bethesda made good strides fixing up bugs and glitches, but those minor patches don’t last. Naturally, it’s up to modders to complete the job, which comes in the form of the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.

I recommend this mod to everyone, even if you don’t use mods. Having it just makes Skyrim far more stable. And the best part? Most mods are compatible with it, so you’ll rarely have to deal with a conflict.

Let’s Ride Durnehviir

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (52)

Durnehviir is arguably one of the coolest dragons in Skyrim. Not only is he an undead dragon, he’s a necromancer. How metal is that? You even get a dragon shout to summon him in battle, but what if you could do more than that?

With the Let’s Ride Durnehviir mod, you gain the ability to do exactly what the mod says: you get to ride Durnehviir! Right after he teaches you the last part of the Soul Tear shout, you’ll learn the shout. If by chance you already did that, don’t worry—the shout is automatically added.

Disable Combat Boundary

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (53)

Skyrim is, in many ways, drastically different from Oblivion. One of the smallest changes that most never took notice of is that enemies won’t follow you through boundaries, like cave openings and doors. Anything that requires Skyrim to load in a new cell, enemies can’t pass through. The Disable Combat Boundary mod removes that restriction entirely so you can’t abuse that system!

Blackthorn, A Buildable Town in the Rift

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (54)

The Hearthfire DLC was a step in the right direction for players to construct their own home, but it always felt it only scratched the surface. The Blackthorn mod made me realize what was missing: an entire town to build. Blackthorn is yours to customize, from weapon racks to merchant; in fact, the available options are more to the tune of over 400.

Goblins

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (55)

I have nothing witty to say about goblins; I just want them back in the game. I’ve missed the little boogers since the days of Oblivion, and it seems a little odd that none show up in Skyrim. With the Goblins mod, which you can download using Creation Club, you even get one as a companion. Long live Gogh!

Immersive Patrols

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (56)

Soon after your journey begins in Skyrim, you hear this talk of civil war between the Stormcloaks and Imperial Legion, but it never really feels like one. Immersive Patrols aims to make Skyrim actually feel like there’s a war going on by adding roving packs of Stormcloaks, Thalmor, Imperials, and Dawnguard, among others.

It isn’t just window dressing, though. These groups will interact with one and an all out fight can break out. If you end up choosing a side, say, with the Imperial, Stormcloaks will even attack you! Ultimately, Skyrim feels much more lively with this mod, and I’m all for it.

Common Clothes and Armors

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (57)

Why does everyone look like they shop at the same three merchants in Skyrim? Pick any NPC from a crowd and they’ll either be dressed as a dirty farmer, in full armor, or they came straight from the Cloud District.

The Common Clothes and Armors mod adds far more variety for you to wear, as well as NPCs. You can even craft some! My personal favorites are the “salvaged” armor sets, which only include portions of the armor, but with leather or chain to fill out the rest. It gives your Dragonborn a real adventurer’s look.

True Storms Special Edition

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (58)

I love atmosphere just as much as I love immersion, and the True Storms mod is thick with atmosphere. While the weather in vanilla Skyrim is good, I wouldn’t mind a little more. This mod adds more variance to the weather, yet still retains that vanilla experience. The storms outside hit a lot differently when you can actually hear it from inside your home. And don’t get me started on the heavy dust storms on Solstheim!

Even Better Quest Objectives

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (59)

How often have you caught yourself wondering about Skyrim because of a bad quest objective? You can’t exactly rely on your journal, either. Hey, it happens to all of us, and it’d be nice to get some directions.

The Even Better Quest Objectives affects over 200 quests and their quest markers, making it a lot easier to figure out where you’re headed. With that said, some of the quests related to riddles are left as is as that would defeat the purpose of the riddle.

DIRGE, the Roleplaying Overhaul

Top 60 Best Skyrim Mods for Xbox (60)

You’ve been to High Hrothgar dozens of times, clocked in hundreds of hours in Skyrim, and now it’s time for a change. If you want to keep most of the aesthetic of Skyrim, but drastically change the game, the DIRGE mod is for you.

DIRGE massively overhauls Skyrim to the point that it feels like an entirely new game. For example, combat feels deadlier. Enemies aren’t just harder to kill, but are far more intelligent. Skills and perks were rebalanced and improved, and even Standing Stones have returned to their rightful place as Birthsigns, which provide their own bonuses.
