Position is Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm with ability to work additional hours as needed.Location: Incumbent must be located anywhere within the Arvest 4 State Footprint (AR, KS, MO, OK). Summary:

We will always be active and involved members of the communities we serve, and we will always work to put the needs of our customers first as we continue to fulfill our mission – People helping people find financial solutions for life.Job Title: Mortgage Consultative Compliance Sr. AnalystThe Mortgage Consultative Compliance Sr. Analyst is responsible for Regulatory Monitoring and Tracking for all Federal, Investor and State updates, supervisory bulletins, CFPB Highlights, etc. The Sr. Analyst must remain current on changes within the mortgage industry and ensure proper dissemination and implementation to protect the company from agency and regulatory servicing violations and potential monetary fines and penalties. The Sr. Analysts provide a second review and approval of the Mortgage Consultative Analysts' findings. The Sr. Analyst serve as a subject matter expert on more complex issues/assigned area(s) of focus, provide recommendations to current procedures, systems, and notices, and determine what might impact the business units. The Mortgage Consultative Compliance Sr. Analyst also assist with training new associates and special projects within the assigned department.

What You Will Do at Arvest: (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Monitor and track all regulatory updates and potential impacts. Document operational/procedural impacts and make recommendations to business units. Ensure any necessary MSD tasks or MCM tickets are created.
  • Make recommendations and offer guidance by collaborating with business unit associates on regulatory changes and best practices to implement said changes, track, and monitor progress.
  • Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of all relevant mortgage processes and procedures. In addition, maintain a continual understanding of regulations and guidelines of applicable regulators, investors, and insurers.
  • Advise the mortgage operations and servicing lending associates on regulatory compliance questions related to Lookbacks and Issue Remediation.
  • Assist with constructing and analyzing the complex data reporting and results to ensure that Lookbacks are managed and reviewed in accordance with the Lookback Project Goals.
  • Collaborate with the subject business units for Issues Remediation to provide remediation plans, monthly updates, and to sufficiently document all remediation activities throughout the issue tracking process from issue identification to issue closure within the Enterprise Issue Management software.
  • Perform periodic compliance reviews of origination and servicing activities for evaluating adherence to current state, investor, and federal regulations impacting mortgage lending origination and servicing of loans held by the company; reviewing a sample of mortgage denials to ensure all applicable regulatory requirements are met; determine the effectiveness of internal controls in the mortgage lending area and prepare written reports, outlining monitoring results, and report findings to senior management.
  • Work to remediate any identified areas of risks noted as part of policy and procedure review and any of the reviews conducted by the Mortgage Compliance Division, Internal Audit, Group Compliance, or any third party, as necessary.
  • Contribute to the department's day-to-day operations by helping to ensure that any timelines set are met by directing the workflow as needed. Assist with training new associates and provide recommendations on additional training as applicable. Assist with special projects within the department, as assigned.
  • Participate in the periodic systematic assignment of policy and procedure reviews based upon the risk level of each procedure, documenting the review, and providing findings to management. Continually review department initiatives to evaluate processes for opportunities for improvement and develop and implement solutions to address any areas identified.
  • Review and/or approve the work of department Analysts as assigned and provide constructive feedback to ensure processes are completed per established guidelines.
  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

Toolbox for Success:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent related or relevant military experience required.
  • 4 years of experience in the mortgage industry or equivalent related experience required.
  • Working knowledge of data analytics, formulas, pivot tables, etc. required.
  • Working knowledge of investor and regulatory agency guidelines and applicable mortgage banking laws and regulations required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; influencing and negotiating required.
  • Working knowledge of Arvest’s current mortgage systems is preferred.
  • Relevant military experience considered for veterans and transitioning service members.
